The Seattle Great Wheel

The Seattle Great Wheel is a large ferris wheel located on Pier 57 in Seattle, Washington. It was the tallest Ferris wheel on the West Coast when it opened in 2012 and currently stands 175 feet (53 meters) tall. The Great Wheel consists of 42 enclosed gondolas, each capable of seating up to eight passengers (four adults and four children). Each ride takes approximately 12-15 minutes, taking passengers on a slow spin around the wheel as they take in views of the city skyline, Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. The Great Wheel is illuminated with LED lights that change colors throughout the night, creating a stunning light show. With its height and location along Seattle’s waterfront, the Great Wheel is a must-see attraction for any visitor to Seattle! Additionally, the wheel offers one of the best night views in the city.
