How to prepare for Hot Yoga
What to Wear
The room is hot, most people are comfortable in minimal clothing that stretches easily when wet: for men, shorts with a liner, for women, shorts or leggings with a sports bra or tank top. Materials that wick moisture tend to be more comfortable than cotton.
What you’ll need
A yoga mat, a large towel and a water bottle for class. These items are also available at the studio for rental or purchase. You may want to bring an extra towel and change of clothes for a shower after class.
When to Arrive
The studio opens 30 minutes before class starts. Please allow enough time to get ready for class and have a few minutes to sit or lie quietly in the studio before class begins.
What to do in Advance
Come to class hydrated and with an empty stomach. If you do need to eat 1-2 hours before class, choose light foods.
CLASSES
We offer the entire Bikram series in two formats: 60 minutes and 90 minutes. The 90 minute class is the traditional Bikram yoga class, and it is an excellent foundation for a strong, sustainable yoga practice. The 60 minute class follows the same sequence in an abbreviated format; we realize that sometimes an hour for yoga is what will fit into your schedule!
Our Services
90 Minute Yoga Class
The original 90 minute hot Bikram yoga class, with two sets each of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. This class is appropriate for all levels of practice, from beginner to advanced, and for all levels of fitness.

Yin is In
Yin yoga practice consists of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly involve the hips, pelvis, inner thighs and spine. The postures are held for up to five minutes, sometimes longer. Poses are mostly practiced with muscles relaxed, as Yin yoga practice is concerned with releasing tension in connective tissue and enhancing energetic flow throughout the body’s system of meridians.

- We recommend eating only light foods in the two hours before class. Fruits, vegetables, or high-protein bars/snacks provide energy and are easy to digest.
- Leave baggage outside the room. Lockers are available for your cell phones, watches, and keys in the dressing rooms.
- Wear light athletic clothes you can move easily in. You will be hot and sweaty!
- Please try to stay in the studio during class. Staying in the room will help you build your focus and support the focus of others. If it’s absolutely necessary to leave the room, try to leave and re-enter quietly and between postures. Stay for the final savasana, allowing yourself time to feel energized and relaxed when you leave!

FAQ
Increasing flexibility and strength are part of what happens with a regular practice. What is important is to get started, and allow the process to unfold!
- The heat enhances vasodilation, so that more blood is delivered to the muscles.
- When blood passes through warm muscles oxygen releases more easily from the hemoglobin.
- Muscles are more elastic, and less susceptible to injury.
- Heat during practice improves coordination.
- The heat reduces heart irregularities associated with sudden exercise.
- Fat burns more easily
Note: Muscles aren't the only beneficiaries of heat. Higher temperatures improve the function of the nervous system, meaning that messages are carried more rapidly to and from the brain and spinal cord.
We recommend attending yoga class at least 3 times per week in order to see and feel the physical and mental benefits that come with a dedicated practice!
Yes! There are two showers in each dressing room.
A study carried out in 2015 discovered that Bikram Yoga, also known as hot yoga, significantly improves lower body strength, strengthens both the upper body & shoulders, and helps keep the body balanced in health. The study also found that bone density, artery stiffness, blood lipids, and mindfulness were greatly improved.
Our yoga instructors have been practicing yoga for many years, and have experienced firsthand the positive health and mindfulness changes that come from practicing hot yoga.
